What are the lifestyle opportunities in and around Bellevue, Nebraska. Are there hiking clubs, biking trails, civic clubs, golf clubs, local arts and theater, lakes, streams, fishing, boating, camping or other types of lifestyle opportunities?

Hello,
I have lived in Bellevue for almost a year and would be happy to share my thoughts on this question. My wife and I feel that our family has a superior quality of life (for the money) than any other place we’ve lived/visited: NYC, San Francisco, L.A., San Diego, Honolulu, and Pittsburgh, etc. We both love our jobs, hers at UNMC and mine teaching sixth grade at Betz Elementary for BPS. In the past year, I’ve been able to enjoy the following: Fencing with OFC, Sailing with LMSA, hiking with the Sierra Club, Omaha Hiking Club, and Fontenelle, where I also volunteer as a Naturalist, Boating with the USCG Aux., Bellevue Flotilla 33-05, rock climbing with UNO Outdoors Dept., Badminton with Top Flight Bad. Club, Confluence Bistro and Bookstore’s varied events, nicely maintained parks (tennis) and pools, great cycling on the trails, volunteering w/ the Nat. Ski Patrol at Mt. Crescent, IA., and lots of cultural activities up in Omaha.
I like my neighbors and coworkers. I’m not sure many folks know how good they have it in Bellevue/Omaha. I could go on, but I’m sure you get the point.
